In this webinar, we will explain in detail how modern BIM workflows can significantly improve the design of Steel connections in terms of efficiency, economy, and safety factors.
The Speakers Summary
BIM workflows between different disciplines (architects, engineers, contractors, etc.) have been implemented significantly in recent years, yet the value of such workflows between structural engineers and fabricators for the design of steel connections has been highly overlooked. Since steel connections are the most critical part of every steel structure (and almost always the source of failure), BIM workflows are even more important to ensure that connections are designed in the most efficient, economical and safe way.
In this webinar, we will demonstrate how the different stakeholders can take advantage of current BIM technologies to exchange data between global structural analysis software and IDEA StatiCa as well as good practices for the correct simulation of the connection models.
We will also discuss the common practice in the UK for data exchange between the consultants and designers (envelope forces not in equilibrium), what are the issues, and how to overcome them by applying modern BIM workflows.
