About IDEA StatiCa

We develop software for structural engineers and detailers. Our development team researches, tests, and applies new methods of analyzing the behaviour of structures and their members. Based on this, we created IDEA StatiCa – software that enables engineers to work faster, evaluate requirements of the national code thoroughly, and use the optimal amount of material. For us, creating software is a way to contribute to making every new construction around the world safer and cheaper.

Discontinuity regions can become a pain to design as there is limited support in the code for them. Our unique underlying analysis methodology can calculate and check these details in minutes. This functionality allows for the accurate determination of stress development at any construction stage or even the full life of the structure. Our advanced time-dependent analysis (TDA) enables the determination of nonlinear creep and shrinkage effects easily. The designer can exploit this functionality to produce economic designs safely. Our BIM links can even import and check members calculated in a 3D model at your favorite structural analysis package.

Automated calculation of bridge load rating for concrete bridges (road and railway) can be performed for both Ultimate and Serviceability limit states. Our BIM links can import and check the critical members through an automated iterative procedure that saves a lot of time.

Determination of the stress-rangeand fatigue resistance,considering the fatiguestrength of concrete,normal and pre-stressed reinforcement.Fatigue checks are availablefor both road and railwaybridges.

Decompression

IDEA StatiCa Concrete checks if the decompression conditions are fulfilled, to make sure that tendons are located into the concrete compression zone.

Torsion

The code torsion check requires the creation of an equivalent thin-walled cross-section for torsion checks. IDEA StatiCa automatically calculates thissection taking into account the shear reinforcement that is set to resist torsion. The user can visually check check and influence the shape of the thin-walled section.

Check of post and pre-stressed members can quickly become frustrating, even for the simplest cases. IDEA StatiCa simplifies this procedure. Wizards can guide the user to the definition of construction stages and the automatic creation of the corresponding load combinations. Both pre and post processing can coexist in a single member with any tendon geometry (in plan and elevation). IDEA StatiCa Concrete, automatically takes care of time-depended effects like tendon losses, creep, shrinkage and non-linear creep. The designer can focus on the project and even make modification. All definitions mentioned above will automatically adapt to the changes making such designs a snap!
