International Colloquium on Stability and Ductility of Steel Structures
The series of International Colloquia on Stability and Ductility of Steel Structures are intended to summarize the progress in theoretical, numerical and experimental research in the field of stability and ductility of steel and composite steel-concrete structures. Special emphasis is always given to new concepts and procedures concerning the analysis and design of steel structures and to the background, development and application of rules and recommendations either appearing in recently published Codes or Specifications or about to be included in their upcoming versions.
The 2016 edition of SDSS was jointly organised by the Politehnica University of Timisoara, Department of Steel Structures and Structural Mechanics in co-operation with Romanian Academy, Timisoara Branch, with the support of European Convention of Constructional Steelwork (ECCS), through Structural Stability Technical Committee (TC8).
IDEA StatiCa was present in the SDSS, and drew a lot of attention through the lecture of prof. Wald and a booth from one of our local partners. Our representatives Lubomír Šabatka (CEO) and Martin Pospíšil (Software Architect, IDEA StatiCa) had a lot of meetings with representatives of Universities from all over the world. A cooperation agreement was made with the department of Steel Structures at Universitatea Politehnica Timisoara which is considered one of the best facilities in Europe.
